Microvascular Tissue Graft (mVASC)

mVASC

At Full Circle, we bring you the most cutting edge, highest quality HEALING AND REGENERATIVE treatment options available in the world. mVASC is just one of the products we recommend that focuses tapping into your body’s own healing abilities while avoiding surgery and steroids. IT IS TRULY REMARKABLE!

Here’s the gist. Two main things need to occur in your body to enhance HEALING AND REGENERATION of injured and aging tissue:

  • Increase “Key player” cells and proteins
  • Create more Blood flow

Key player cells and proteins and more blood flow to get the cells and proteins to the area in need are the hallmark of healing and regeneration. What’s the goal? — Complete healing and regeneration as opposed to applying “bandaids” to the problem.

It is important to understand that for many years, the medical industry has been focusing on promoting these key player cells and proteins to help healing. You likely have already heard about these types of treatments called PRP, A2M, “stem cells,” exosomes, bone marrow harvest, fat harvest, shockwave, needling, cupping, and so forth. These types of modalities and injections have been widely used for over the past 20 years. Thanks to amazing advances in science and medicine, we are enhancing our approach even further. Now, in addition to promoting these cells and proteins, we are including additional focus on increasing blood flow to injured and aged tissue.

We have begun to turn more attention to the second concept to improved healing and regeneration which is blood flow. How do we get a more sustained flow (conduits) of these healing properties (cells and proteins) to area of injury or aging? How do we get more continuous flow of healing properties into the an injured or aged area? The answer – Angiogenesis, defined as creation of new blood vessels. Yes, that’s right, we now have techniques to help create more blood vessels to areas in need. mVASC is a rockstar at this!

After a comprehensive evaluation, we can determine if mVASC is best treatment approach for you, sometimes we use it alone and other times we combine it with other treatments for more rapid and complete healing. Read here about the other services used in our comprehensive approach – Review Other Services. We can discuss how many different treatment approaches overlap in their mechanism of action and end goal.

WHAT IS mVASC?

mVASC is donor derived ACTUAL microscopic blood vessels. You might have heard of someone having a bone graft for a fracture or a spinal fusion. Although not as concentrated as in mVASC, microvascular tissue is present in almost every tissue and has been implanted into millions of patients as part of skin, bone, tendon and other tissue grafts. mVASC is a human miscrovascular tissue enhancement to support repair of injured or aging tissue. It contains blood vessels called arterioles, capillaries, venules as well as a supportive matrix called the extracellular matrix (ECM) that helps provide channels for increasing local blood flow.

HOW DOES mVASC WORK?

  • mVASC will incorporate with your own blood vessel tissue through natural healing and remodeling processes. Studies indicate that active tissue healing begins quickly after product transplant, within 1-2 weeks.
  • mVASC contains key components for the REPAIR AND REGENERATION of damaged tissue. With few exceptions, all tissues have an underlying microcirculation that is composed of arterioles, capillaries, and venules in which key liquid and solid exchanges occur to help HEALING AND REGENERATION.
  • Microvascular tissue (Blood flow) is the main underlying mechanism that all tissues grow and remodel. mVASC Extracellular Matrix (ECM) provides binding sites for cells to attach and channels that support vessel connections and new vessel formation. The result is more rapidly reestablished and enhanced blood flow. The rapidly reestablished blood flow provides oxygen and nutrients, and removes waste to support local tissue repair.

HOW DO WE GET mVASC?

Microvascular Tissues, Inc. (MVT) uses proprietary methods to minimally manipulate donated human cadaveric tissue and recover the microvascular (teeny tiny blood vessel) tissue with its structure intact. Any remaining cells in mVASC are no longer capable of proliferation and are not metabolically active.

IS mVASC SAFE?

  • mVASC is obtained from cadaveric donors that have been screened and tested according to FDA and AATB requirements. It is terminally sterilized and does not contain any live cells.
  • mVASC microvascular tissue is regulated by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) as a human tissue intended for transplantation.
  • mVASC is obtained, processed, and sold in accordance with FDA’s requirements for Public Health Service (PHS) Act Part 361 and FDA requirements for banked human tissue (21 CFR Part 1271).

To date, no immune rejection response in animals or humans has been observed with mVASC. Over a short period of time the mVASC tissue is incorporated and remodeled with native host tissue.

WHAT DOES IT LOOK LIKE TO HAVE mVASC?

mVASC comes in a dehydrated wafer which is mixed with local anethetic and then injected into the area of injured or aging tissue (tendon, joint, etc) using ultrasound guidance. Expect to spend about about 30 minutes total in the office. Compression is usually applied for a few days.

EXPECTATIONS?

Since there is no “pro-inflammatory” stage with mVASC as opposed to PRP and A2M, patients begin to recover and experience symptomatic relief more quickly, usually within 1-2 weeks. However, keep in mind, it can take longer for proper healing and regeneration.

Any soreness experienced is likely more due to the injection itself and not due to the product injected. Patients who have received this treatment comment that it is much less painful and an easier recovery than PRP and A2M. We recommend relative rest the first week with 25% increase in activity each week thereafter. It can take 6-8 weeks for the full effects of healing with this product. The after care can be discussed in more detail on an individual basis.

Q&As – Microvascular Tissue Graft (mVASC)

What conditions does mVASC help heal and regenerate?

mVASC is revolutionary treatment used for various degenerative and injury conditions, including tendon tears, strains, sprains, neuropathy, and arthritis. Common conditions treated inclue rotator cuff tears, tennis elbow, plantar fasciitis, and knee joint arthritis. It can even help patients who have already had a joint replacement but who still have pain (we can explain more how this works at your visit). It aims to more completely heal and regenerate rather than “bandaid” a condition like when using cortisone injections for only temporary relief.

How safe is the mVASC treatment?

mVASC is a relatively simple injection. It is considered SAFE as it is derived from rigorously screened cadaveric donors and is processed in compliance with AATB laboratory and FDA regulations. It contains no live human cells, minimizing the risk of immune rejection. It is literally microscopic “pipes” of tiny blood vessels. This could be equated to using PVC pipes to get flow to an area that needs water.

How does mVASC help healing and regeneration?

mVASC enhances HEALING AND REGENERATION by providing increased “pipelines” for blood flow to the degenerated or injured areas. These pipelines bring more continuous flow of KEY PLAYER CELLS AND PROTEINS necessary for healing and repair. This mechanism is also essential to neuropathy conditions such as peripheral neuropathy and diabetic neuropathy. Unlike cortisone injections, this treatment option aims to fix the problem.

Does mVASC hurt?

Applying mVASC is relatively simple for us as experienced providers who have performed over 80,000 injections. With our technique, there is only mild discomfort with the injection itself. We use local anesthetic and ultrasound guidance to ensure comfort and accuracy of placement to the area in need.

How long does the procedure take?

Applying mVASC does not take long. We will confirm our intended target through imaging review, physical examination, and ultrasound evaluation. The skin is then cleaned and anesthetized. The injection then just takes just a few minutes to administer. The procedure itself is similar to receiving a cortisone injection.

How long does it take for mVASC to work?

Studies show that mVASC begins to blend with your tissues within 1-2 weeks. However, it can take 6-8 weeks for the blood vessels to fully incorporate and provide the HEALING AND REGENERATION intended. Remember, the purpose is to lay “pipelines” so that more volume of key player cells and proteins can enter the area of age or injury. We aim to fix your problem, not temporize it such as with cortisone injections.

How long does it take to recover from mVASC?

Since there is no “pro-inflammatory” stage with mVASC as opposed to PRP and A2M, patients begin to recover and experience relief more quickly, sometimes within just a few weeks. Any soreness experienced is likely more due to the injection itself and not due to the product injected. Patients who have received this treatment comment that it is much less painful and an easier recovery than other injections they have experienced. We recommend relative rest the first week with 25% increase in activity each week thereafter. It can take 6-8 weeks for the full effects of healing with this product. The after care can be discussed in more detail on an individual basis. See our Aftercare Page for more information on recovery recommendations.

What are the risks of mVASC?

There is minimal risk with receiving this treatment. You will receive just a few needle “sticks.” We obtain product from Microvascular Tissues, Inc. (MVT) who uses proprietary methods to minimally manipulate donated human cadaveric tissue and recover the microvascular tissue with its structure intact. Any remaining live human cells in mVASC are no longer capable of proliferation and are not metabolically active. In the end, it is merely structural “pipes and scaffolding” similar to a bone graft used for a fracture to help healing.

What is the cost of mVASC?

mVASC cost varies depending on the market rate which changes. Please discuss more fully with us directly.
